The Dallas County Commissioners Court is made up of the County Judge and four County Commmissioners. These elected leaders function much like a municipal council, with oversight of our jail, county law enforcement, our public health system including Parkland Hospital, our court system, roads and infrastructure, and other key services. The Dallas County budget is more than $1B annually.
Each Commissioner represents one of four districts. Commissioner District 2 covers the northern part of Dallas County and contains parts of cities such as Coppell, Farmers Branch, Carrollton, Addison, Dallas, Richardson and Garland. Voters in each district elect their representative to the Commissioners Court and are also able to vote for the County Judge. In the map above, District 2 is shown with precincts and boundaries as of 2019.
